My brother has been incarcerated 10 years serving out a 23 year sentence. His health is failing him. He suffered a heart attack right before the pandemic. He has been put on a C-Pap machine, due to his sleep aponea. Lawrence Correctional Facility has recently as of yesterday taken all of their inmates off their C-Pap machines with no warning or legit reason. People lives are at stake now is not the time to put these inmates at higher risk than they already are. This facility has to let certain inmates out due to their health conditions and the growing threat of COVID-19. Lawrence Correctional Facility was just on lockdown due to certain inmates becoming infected with COVID-19, to try to stop the spread. At a desperate time like this when COVID-19 is growing so rapidly and killing so many, why would Lawrence Correctional Facility chose to take every inmate off their C-Pap machines. My concern is not just for my brother but for mankind. This is unethical,unfair and unjust. They are human and these inmates are entitled to human rights. Please sign this petition and save all of the inmates at Lawrence Correctional Facility. The warden their is Dr. Deanna Brookhart. My family has recently wrote the warden and the Illinois Prison Review Board, concerning a early release for my brother, due to his underlying condition and the Facility rejected the letter.
