Free Jaime Hernandez - Clemency Project

Free Jaime Hernandez - Clemency Project
The Issue
To all my friends and family, this petition is for my cousin Jaime Hernandez and who better else to write this petition and ask for help than the man himself...
Hello, my name is Jaime Hernandez and I’m currently incarcerated at Danville C.C. I was convicted of murder in 2001 and have been incarcerated for 20 years now with 5 years remaining. I'm filing clemency soon and thought setting up this petition would be an efficient way of gathering additional support. Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been doing for the past 20 years.
I'm currently employed in the graphic design dept. in the I.C.I (Illinois Correctional Industry) designing shirts for local businesses and other foundations, we design and print out decals for many businesses, regular customers, and the Illinois State Police vehicles. I've had many jobs throughout my sentence and not once have I ever been fired, something I’m very proud of. I graduated college and earned my Associate's Degree and have taken several self-help classes such as Anger Management and Drug Education...to name a few. I'm also involved in the L.T.S dept. when needed and help referee sporting events and other tournaments. There’s nothing more prison can teach me! I'm ready for my second chance at life, a second chance at being a father, and a second chance at being a good citizen. I’m SOOO far from the teenager I was when arrested. I'll be 40 years old in July, I couldn't be more grown and mature than I am now. I truly have many regrets but all I can do is try to be the best man I can and with your support, I can possibly be that better man sooner. Thank you for your time and I appreciate your support...
