For the last 6 months, Britain has been crippled by fear due to Covid-19. People have lost businesses, loved ones, renters are losing their homes, children have lost education, friendships have ended, depression and poor mental health are on the rise, anxiety is rife, the elderly are dying alone. This list is not exhaustive as people are suffering in many other ways.

TV personality, actor and mental health advocate, Denise Welch brought a spark of hope to thousands as she began to speak out with positive statistics in September 2020; 6 months after the pandemic began. Her only intention, to bring  balance to the information that the public are seeing and hearing in mainstream media. 

Denise is a truly beautiful human who has suffered with depression. She is deeply concerned about the way the virus is still being reported and the effect it is having on the masses.

Denise has a huge following on social media and is a well respected TV personality.

Therefore we feel it is time for Piers Morgan, presenter of ITV Good Morning Britain to retract the comments he has put out on Twitter.

Comments which labelled Denise as "mind numbingly complacent and ignorant". He also called her "idiotic and  ill-informed" and "a covid denier". He has used her openesses about her depression as a way to quash the information she had posted which had brought some hope to the current situation. 

Piers Morgan has 7.6m followers on Twitter. His abuse of power is a direct form of bullying. He has begun a hate campaign against a woman who is trying to spread some positivity amongst a time of confusion and anguish. 

Not only should Piers retract all his comments, he should make a public apology for his hateful words, or resign.

We are facing one of the most catastrophic times in history where devistation has been caused worldwide. We welcome and deserve some hope and positivity.
