Ban Single-Use Plastic

Ban Single-Use Plastic
The issue
Once upon a time, our planet was a beautiful and perfect place where no one was putting the earth and themselves in danger by creating plastic pollution and waste to fill our oceans. Our job, is to put a stop to this once and for all, and start fixing up our own mess. At the moment, around 1 million sea birds and almost 100,000 sea mammals are killed because of our inexcusable behaviour to package our food and litter our wrappers. 8 million metric tons of plastic waste is dumped into our oceans each year (17.6 billion pounds). This is unacceptable. One of our most important jobs was to protect the land we inherited, and keep it safe and healthy. All we've done is the complete opposite.
You may think that the world is such a wonderful place, but as a matter of fact it is most certainly not. We are producing way too much plastic to get rid of and sooner or later, there will be nowhere else to store it. Around 90% of our world's population is already exposed to pollution. Do you want this to continue?
Well... there are many solutions to create change. But at the moment, all we need to do is work together in order to make it happen. It's not only wildlife that we are affecting, but ourselves as well.
In order to solve this issue, there are many things that need to be done. We need to:
- BAN single-use plastic such as snack packets, plastic straws, plastic bags, bread tags; etc
- Use more recyclable products
- Reduce our waste
- Repurpose plastic into everyday furniture
- Clean up our mess, and so much more.
We need to change this one step at a time. Otherwise, there will be no world to protect. Up to almost 1 million people die per year due to plastic pollution, suffering from many diseases/cancers because of it. Guess whose fault it is... ours.
Help stop this mess once and for all, to protect not only ourselves but everything else in this world. The earth needs our help urgently, so be the ones who give it to them.
Thank you, please pass this on to friends and family if you can, to help make a difference.
