New incentives have just been announced to attract more businesses and industry to set up in regional areas. These incentives will come in the form of grants, low interest loans and a hold on payroll tax during the establishment period.
Also announced today is a new relocation grant for skilled workers to move their families to the bush. The grants will be one-off payments of $10,000.
These announcements were made by the Deputy Premier John Barilaro in Parkes this morning (Monday, 10 September, 2018). The NSW Government recognises the future enormous potential in this region and forecasts that Parkes will become Australia's largest inland city - or in their words, "Australia's largest inland Port".
This is why it is extremely important that we get the Tottenham Branch Line upgraded and passenger services re-established as a matter of urgency, so all the towns along the Bogan Way can benefit from what's coming our way.
Imagine families buying homes in places like Tottenham, Tullamore and Trundle and being able to commute to work in Parkes by train. This is not a dream! This is a very real possibility - but we need more signatures to make it happen.
So please share this petition with people everywhere and particularly with those still living in the cities who are dreaming of a better life in the country where they can own their own homes - because this petition may very well lead to those dreams coming true sooner rather than later.
