WE NEED A NEW CENTENNIAL HIGH SCHOOL. Centennial High School in Howard County, MD is exemplary. The students are extraordinarily hardworking and multi-talented. CHS is consistently ranked in the top 500 high schools in all of the US, and totes a reputation as a school where students thrive in academics, the arts, and even athletics. Despite this excellence, the Centennial High School building is weak. It was poorly designed and constructed in 1977, and the problems have only gotten worse since then. Centennial students shoot high, but the building brings them down. HCPSS needs to address the problems NOW. 

• CHS has been ignored for too long.
• HCPSS has accepted the status quo for too long.
• The students and teachers at Centennial have had to deal with unhealthy, uninspiring building for too long.

This exemplary school and community deserves better. It's time to shoot higher. The student-produced documentary A New Centennial exposes the longtime problems and demands action. By signing this petition, I support this effort.
