Provide choice to IUSD Hybrid students to attend classes in-person or online
Provide choice to IUSD Hybrid students to attend classes in-person or online
The Issue
Recently, the Irvine Unified School District has made the decision to send elementary, middle, and high schoolers back to school for students that chose the Hybrid model for the 2020-2021 school year. With school being open for merely two weeks, there are already a total of nine cases of COVID-19 which include both teachers and students. In order to preserve the safety of the Irvine community, families should be given the option to stay home and have their students attend their classes on Zoom, without being marked absent from class. Not only may this decrease the number of students that attend school, which will help with social distancing and class sizes, but families may feel the relief of having the choice to stay home and take preventative measures.
