We are petitioning for a safe crossing (zebra crossing) to be placed on Quarry Road close to Old Cally Road  at the entrance to the park. 

Irvine council have constructed a path through the playing field from Quarry Rd  to Woodlands Primary School. What is missing is a safe place for our children to cross, not only when going and coming from school but also when playing. 

The summer holidays are coming and it would be wonderful after over a year of lock-down that our children can use the park, playing field and track safely.

This is not just for children attending Woodlands Primary School but to keep our community safe. The park and track should be accessible to everyone young, older and with all physical abilities. 

Our community deserves a safe place to cross a main road, without putting peoples lives at risk. Traffic will often speed down the road without concern for kids/elderly or others crossing the road. 

It has been said that there is not enough traffic or not enough people have died crossing the road to warrant a safe crossing. I find this completely illogical! Can our elected council  show they are pro-active rather than re-active and put a safe crossing on Quarry road for our community to cross without putting their lives in danger.
