

3 horses used in racing last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (24, 25 and 26 May 2026) have been confirmed DEAD by Horse Racing Ireland.
The dead horses were identified as:
4-year-old Winnie The What who finished fifth in his third and final race - the "Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale 4yo Geldings Maiden" at Tattersalls course on 24 May 2026 (Jockey - B Finn. Owner: W B Connors)
7-year-old Winning Smut who suffered a heavy fall in the "McHale Mayo Handicap Hurdle" race at Ballinrobe racecourse in County Mayo on 25 May 2026. (Jockey - Josh Williamson. Owner: Denis J Reddan)
5-year-old Extra Beat who was pulled up injured (lame on his right hind leg) in the "Sheridan Electric Maiden Hurdle" race at Ballinrobe racecourse on 26 May 2026. (Jockey - Mr O T Gilligan. Owner: Harry By Mistake Syndicate)
These horses are the latest in a growing list of racing victims.
