DEAD: Six horses used in racing at Kilbeggan racecourse since April
6 horses used in racing at Kilbeggan racecourse since the end of April have been confirmed dead. Four of the horses were carrying the same jockey in races at the County Westmeath course.
According to details published by Horse Racing Ireland, four horses used at Kilbeggan racecourse on 24 April 2026 are dead:
10-year-old Jinxs Link who suffered a fall in a race (Jockey - JJ Slevin)
10-year-old Musta Lovea Lovea who was pulled up in a race (Jockey - Phillip Enright)
5-year-old Lamikal D'airy who was pulled up in a race (Jockey - Conor Stone-Walsh)
4-year-old McLoughlin who was "struggling when bad mistake" before being pulled up in a race (Jockey - Conor Stone-Walsh)
The latter two horses were used in consecutive races that day.
A horse used at Kilbeggan racecourse one week later has also been confirmed dead. 8-year-old Rajjnatin “weakened before last” in the “Joe Quinn Transport Longford Handicap Hurdle” race on 31 May 2026 (Jockey: Conor Stone-Walsh)
Last Friday at Kilbeggan racecourse (10 July 2026), 10-year-old horse Ballyglass Beauty suffered a fall in the “New Forest Estate & Golf Club Handicap Hurdle” race and has been confirmed dead. This horse was carrying jockey Conor Stone-Walsh when he fell.
Other horses carrying Conor Stone-Walsh who have been confirmed dead include:
8-year-old Backtonormal - suffered a fall in the “Paddy Power Chase” at Leopardstown racecourse on 27 December 2025.
10-year-old The Dasher Conway - suffered a heavy fall and was fatally injured in a race at Gowran Park racecourse on 8 November 2025.
10-year-old Gondor who was “pulled up approaching last” in a race at Killarney racecourse on 12 May 2025.
6-year-old Big Chou who suffered a fall in a race at Leopardstown racecourse on 29 December 2024.
5-year-old Marcus Furius who suffered a fall in the “Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle” race at Limerick racecourse on 19 November 2024.
8-year-old Wee Jerry who was lame after the “Glenallen Homes Handicap Chase” race at Downpatrick racecourse on 26 August 2024.
These horses are among a growing list of horse racing victims.

TAKE ACTION
Don’t bet on horse racing or attend horse racing events.
Since 2001, the Irish Government has granted €1.54 Billion of public funds to horse racing. Contact the Taoiseach and Tanaiste and demand an end to state funding to this gambling activity which causes so much suffering and death. Tell them to redirect the funds to the many deserving charities, health/homeless/environmental groups, sports clubs, animal rescue centres, etc crying out for support.
