IQHQ's plan is not good enough, Give Jerry's Pond a better answer!

The Issue

Jerry's Pond is a polluted pond in Cambridge, right next to the Rindge Towers. Many of the people affected by this mess of a pond are lower-income residents. How typical of America, I bet you anything that this pond would not be so polluted if this were a higher-income area. This area is not only a clear example of classism but also a horrible environment for local wildlife.

While Jerry's pond is planned to be renovated by the new owner of the property, IQHQ, they are not doing enough. Their plan will certainly make the area look nicer; however, the organization Friends of Jerry's Pond has a better plan. While this plan would require minimal government funding, the project is well within the government's scope. The Friends plan requires adding an additional 135 trees and including extra scenery to make the pond better for the locals and the animals as well.

I have been doing school assignments and projects on Jerry's Pond since I was in 4th grade, and it holds a special place in my heart. Now more than ever, we should take action so that we can convince IQHQ to adopt Friends' plan before they start to carry out their own. With your help, we can make Jerry's Pond not a symbol of pollution and classism but one of hope and perseverance.
