The Olympic Games are an incredible showcase of the effort, dedication, and talent that each athlete brings to their respective disciplines.

In the spirit of the Olympic Games and consistent with their values, the recognition of merit in competitions should be broadened. We urge the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to seriously consider increasing the number of medalists per event from three to five. This measure would not only increase recognition opportunities for more athletes but would also resonate with the symbolism of the Olympic Games, represented by the five interlocking rings of the Olympic flag.

Currently, the format limits the recognition of these countless talents to just three medals, which is a missed opportunity to celebrate the merit and hard work of many competitors who are often just seconds or centimeters away from achieving traditional victory.

Sign this petition to demonstrate to the IOC the importance of this change and together advocate for more comprehensive and inclusive recognition at the next Olympic Games.

Los Juegos Olímpicos son una increíble muestra de esfuerzo, dedicación y talento que cada atleta ofrece en sus respectivas disciplinas.
En el espíritu de los Juegos Olímpicos y en congruencia con sus valores, se debería ampliar el reconocimiento del mérito en las competiciones. Se solicita al Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI) considere seriamente aumentar el número de medallistas por prueba de tres a cinco. Esta medida no sólo aumentaría las oportunidades de reconocimiento para más atletas, sino que también haría eco con el simbolismo de los Juegos Olímpicos, representados por los cinco anillos entrelazados de la bandera Olímpica.

Actualmente, el formato limita el reconocimiento de estos innumerables talentos a solo tres medallas, lo cual es una oportunidad perdida de celebrar el mérito y el trabajo arduo de muchos competidores que, con frecuencia, están a escasos segundos o centímetros de lograr la victoria tradicional.
