We, the citizens of the United States of America, are appealing for the immediate invocation of the 25th Amendment, Presidential Disability and Succession, in relation to President Joe Biden. We firmly believe that on Thursday, July 27, 2024, the president demonstrated an inability to discharge his powers and duties as the head of the country. The 25th Amendment provides a legal framework for succession in the event that a president becomes unable to perform his or her duties, thus serving as a safeguard for our democracy (as stated in the US Constitution). In the past, this amendment was used under rare circumstances such as during the time of President Reagan's colon cancer surgery in 1985, and President Bush's colonoscopy in 2002. It is not an action taken lightly, but one undertaken in the interests of the country. Given these circumstances, we formally request the application of this amendment to assess the current president's capability to function in office.
