As a supporter of the National Rugby League (NRL), I have witnessed a disconcerting trends betraying the trust of fans time and time again undermining the integrity of our beloved sport. Countless times, inequality of verdicts have been handed down to players for the same allegations and same offences, creating a sense of injustice within the league. Not just this, but also match outcomes have often been influenced by incorrect calls by both the on field and video officials that have significantly impacted the speed, possession and overall atmosphere of the game. Such incidents compromise the faith of fans and stakeholders of those in charge.

The fairness within the NRL is vital to its credibility and the trust of its fans, players, investors and the future of the game. Investigations into alleged match-fixing and unfair player treatment, conducted independently, should be conducted to restore this trust.

Obnoxious to say scandals have happened in our game and to turn a blind eye to tyranny will kill this game within our great country and this behaviour shall not go on accountability needs to be held to those who are suppose to be held to a higher standard in making our great game.

Therefore, we urge the relevant authorities to launch an independent investigation into these pressing matters. An open, transparent process that will restore faith in the fairness of the NRL, safeguard the integrity of our beloved sport and build back the lost trust.
