We the signers of this Petition are calling for an Investigation into Undine LLC for unfair meter base rate increases, inaccurate meter readings and harmful disconnections of service.

Undine has recently acquired several water service companies in the Hideaway/Lindale Texas area, resulting in increased base rates on existing meters at residential addresses. These rates are for the meters ONLY and DO NOT include any water.

These rate increases are more than 50% higher than previous base rates and are scheduled to increase two (2) more times over the next two (2) years. Current 2024 base rate is $56.72 / 2025 = $66.56 and 2026 = $76.40. DOES NOT include any water usage. 

Customers are reporting excessive water bills as high as $600.00, $900.00 and even $1,200.00 a month for water usage. These bills show LARGE amounts of water being used, some examples are - 30,000 - 45,000 and even as high as 65,000 gallons used in one month at a Single Family Residence. NO FLOODING reported, but Undine points to LEAKS as possible cause for discrepancy.

NOW with large bills that people have to pay, whether or not they can afford to, Undine is threatening Disconnections if customers do not pay their bills on time. Elderly people on fixed incomes, families with children and people with serious medical conditions living at home are all at risk of losing their water.

We are calling for an investigation into Undine LLC for unjustified rate increases, inaccurate meter readings and unethical cruel disconnections of service. We ask that the 2025 and 2026 rate increases be postponed, any funds paid on inaccurate meter read bills be refunded to the customer and that ALL disconnections involving any account being challenged be suspended.

This Petition will be forwarded onto the Texas AG's Office, PUC, Texas State Senator Bryan Hughes and Texas House Representative Cole Hefner's local offices.
