Investigate the suspicious deaths of two American sisters in Jordan

The Issue

On November 6th, two American sisters died in Jordan under mysterious circumstances. The Jordanian government has banned the press from reporting on the deaths which they’ve declared to be a double suicide. According to Jordan's Public Security Department, my friend Jumana and her sister jumped or fell to their deaths from a tall building in the city of Amman. They have provided no proof of an investigation, and I want the US State Department and The Jordanian Royal Family to do all they can to find out what really happened to these two great Jordanian-Americans.

Jumana Salti and I grew up together. We played together on our school’s soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams, and we have shared the unbreakable bond of teammates ever since, until her untimely death. Now, my heart aches. Jumana’s spirit, her generosity, her playfulness and goodness will live on, but she is gone, and her friends and family need closure.

Please join me in asking the US State Department and Jordanian Royal Family to do all they can to get to the bottom of the Salti sisters’ sudden death.

Before the ban on media coverage, I believe that what was reported was an implausible story that leaves too many questions unanswered. This feels like a cover-up of epic proportions, and I am asking for your help in finding out what really happened to Jumana and Soraya.

Jumana and Soraya were model Americans and Jordanians alike. They opened doors for female athletes, activists and entrepreneurs. Soraya was honored by President Obama, and was the winner of the Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the first Arab woman to win the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, and was named a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. Jumana worked for one of America’s most iconic companies and dedicated herself to bettering the socio-economic condition of her fellow citizens.

Today, I am begging all of you to help me encourage the US State Department and the Jordanian Royal Family to do the right thing and ensure that a real, thorough investigation will be done into the deaths of my dear friend Jumana and her sister Soraya.  Although they didn’t die on American soil, their family deserves the peace of mind that America is doing all it can to find answers.
