Investigate the Judges of the New Mexico Compound Trial

The Issue

I was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and am fully aware of the violence which takes place and the many criminals who are released back into the community to run amock. Often times those very same individuals have more than 5 offenses against them and are still let go. I personally feel that the majority of judges presiding in New Mexico need to be investigated, but the ones who pose the greatest threat at this point in time are those in the Eighth Judicial District Court.

SARAH BACKUS: On Monday, August 13, 2018, Judge Sarah Backus cleared the way for five defendants who were arrested on child abuse charges at a remote New Mexico compound to be released pending trial. Found on the property were 11 malnourished, abused children being trained to commit school shootings across the country. Sadly another child was also found on the premise, however, the only thing recovered were the remains of the young boy's body. The boy, Abdul-ghani, was abducted by his father (One of the suspected guilty parties) to be taken out of state to perform an exorcism on him due to his disabilities. Aside from the children, handguns, and ammunition were also recovered on the premise. Authorities say they found books on being effective in combat and building untraceable assault-style rifles. These 5 are suspected terrorists and their activity was confirmed by both local law enforcement, and the FBI.

Judge Sarah Backus said prosecutors failed to articulate any specific threats or plan against the community, despite providing concerning information. Ashamedly, Judge Backus has a history of issuing low bail to violent offenders. Last month (July 2018), she set a $10,000 bond for Rafael Orozco, a 24-year-old Taos man accused of battering his girlfriend, his newborn child and a health care worker at Holy Cross Hospital in September 2016 (he punched his girlfriend for breastfeeding their newborn in front of a male doctor, then proceeded to slap the newborn).

DONALD GALLEGOS (District Attorney): 5-302 NMRA(A)(1) demands that a preliminary hearing be held no later than (10) days after the first appearance if the defendant is in custody. If a preliminary hearing is not held, the case against defendant is to be dismissed without prejudice and the defendant shall be discharged. The blatant disregard Donald Gallegos has demonstrated caused these barbaric individuals charges to be dismissed. He had the power to do something, and he didn't. He failed to meet the responsibilities of his position as DA, and completely disregarded current and active District Court Rules. He needs to be removed from his position immediately.
