Investigate the Alleged Unlawful Practices at Good Shepherd Children and Family Services in St. Louis
The Issue
We call upon the local and state authorities to investigate the child care practices at Good Shepherd Children and Family Services in St. Louis, Missouri. It has been alleged that this agency, along with its social workers Tiffany LaChance and Amanda Stegall, have been unjustly removing children from their families under the guide of foster care and adoption services, with a dubious claim of prioritizing family reunification. These allegations are serious in nature and question the ethical and legal operations of a branch of the Division of Family Services and a significant player in child protection in the Francis County area. The trauma of unjust separation can have devastating long-term psychological effects on the children involved. Reports suggest that children placed in foster care are more likely to face problems with attachment, emotional and cognitive skills, and social/behavioral development (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2017). This petition is a plea for a transparent and thorough investigation of these alleged malpractices, to ensure that the rights and wellbeing of children and their families are placed above all else. We implore everyone to join us in this demand for justice and fair treatment for our children – please sign this petition.
