INVESTIGATE TAIJI SAWADA'S DEATH AS A HOMICIDE

The Issue

On July 14, 2011, Japanese rock musician Taiji Sawada allegedly got into a fight with his manager Kitami Terumi on a flight out of Saipan, CNMI. Less than four days later, he was dead, and less than six days after that, his death was written off as a suicide in detention.

There are many suspicious circumstances in and around Mr. Sawada's death, but this will focus simply on means, motive, and opportunity to establish that there is circumstantial evidence for homicide - that he DID NOT commit suicide.

Means:
The fight itself was apparently not documented in any way, nor was Mr. Sawada's restraint, except in the complaint. There was no video or other evidence to prove he was not severely injured or harmed at any point leading up to his detention.

He was acting strangely and in a manner out of character for himself. Yet at no point in his detention was a tox screen done to determine intoxication (if any), nor was he properly detained as a dangerous to self or others psychiatric patient.

Even were he legitimately suicidal, he was left, by official accounts, in an agitated mental state, in a non-suicide proofed cell.

Something else of note was that persons who viewed Mr. Sawada's body in the hospital noted tape marks on his mouth and combat wounds from a fight - and no neck bruising or other signs of suicide as he was alleged to have committed it. No autopsy was, unfortunately, conducted.

Opportunity:
Many people possibly had an opportunity to kill Mr. Sawada, either indirectly (by paying/bribing/otherwise compensating his jailers or someone else to kill him - Kitami Terumi and the guru Shinso had this influence in Saipan) or by setting in motion the plans to cause his acting out in such a serious situation as an airplane flight. The jailers themselves may have taken it upon themselves to inflict a beating or other assault that left him dead. Even were he not braindead while in the hospital, Kitami and Shinso again had contact with him there.

Motive:
An obvious financial motive existed among many possible others. Kitami Terumi had been actively embezzling money from Mr. Sawada, and Shinso conspired with Ms. Terumi to encourage Mr. Sawada to stay in both Saipan and keep her as his manager. As Mr. Sawada lay braindead in the hospital, Ms. Terumi was reported to have used his phone to delete his blog (including potential evidence) and to attempt to commit fraud against contacts in the phone.
-------------

There is MUCH more evidence than listed here, and many more people to investigate, That said, this petition has a narrow focus and only seeks two goals:

1: The immediate rescinding of the death certificate claiming that Taiji Sawada's death was a "suicide."
2: The immediate opening of a thorough and complete homicide investigation by people above the local authorities in Saipan in regard to the death of Taiji Sawada, to determine if his death was indeed homicide, and if so, who murdered him.
