Sweden for a spot at the 2026 World Cup. Poland had 67% possession. Poland had 15 shots to Sweden’s 9. Poland were the better team for almost the entire game.
We still lost 3-2 in the 88th minute.
And we are not accepting this result lying down.
The referee Slavko Vincic’s performance was so bad that even a former professional referee came out publicly and called it a disgrace to the refereeing profession. This was not just bad refereeing. The decisions were consistently and repeatedly going against Poland at every single critical moment of the game.
A foul on Lewandowski that was clear as day, not given. Sweden’s second goal where a Swedish player was offside and physically blocked Lewandowski, VAR never used. A penalty shout for Poland completely ignored. Swedish players fouling Polish players repeatedly with no consequences while Poland were whistled for everything.
Robert Lewandowski is 37 years old. This was almost certainly his last chance to reach a World Cup. He has scored 89 goals for Poland and given everything to this national team for 15 years. This is how it ends?
We are asking FIFA to investigate this match properly. If the evidence shows what we believe it shows, we want a rematch.
Football is supposed to be fair. This was not fair.
