Investigate Keir Starmer's Record as Director of Public Prosecutions
The Issue
I am calling for a thorough investigation into the past actions of Keir Starmer, who served as the Director for Public Prosecutions (DPP) in the UK from 2008 to 2013. Particularly, I seek clarity and transparency about the decision-making processes that led to the lack of prosecution of Jimmy Savile and Mohamed Al Fayed during his time in power, despite serious accusations. Under Starmer's time as DPP, according to the official statistics of the Crown Prosecution Service, prosecution rates decreased significantly (source: Crown Prosecution Service's Statistical Bulletin). Yet, no clear explanation was given to the public for these controversial decisions. We believe that it is crucial for a functioning democracy to hold public servants accountable for their actions and decisions while in power — not just for justice's sake, but to ensure trust in our institutions. We thus appeal to the parliament to conduct an impartial and comprehensive investigation into these matters. Please sign this petition if you believe in truth, accountability, and justice.
