We, the past attendees of Electric Echo Lake, are raising serious concerns about the safety and legality of this venue after learning that its event coordinator/ property manager has seven prior convictions related to crimes against children. Because this location is promoted as a family friendly lake and campground, we believe an immediate investigation is necessary.

 
Why This Matters
Electric Echo Lake regularly hosts events, gatherings, and activities where children and teens are present. As former attendees, we now feel concerned that:

New York State sex offender restrictions may not be properly followed
The manager in question may not be legally permitted to operate a venue where minors are present
The site may not meet state campground safety and health regulations
Families and visitors may have been unknowingly placed at risk
Anyone who attends a public venue marketed toward families deserves to know that the property is being operated lawfully and safely.

 
What We Are Requesting
We respectfully ask the following officials and agencies to take immediate action:

Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck
Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci
New York State Department of Health – Campgrounds Division
Specifically, we ask for:
A full safety and compliance investigation into Electric Echo Lake’s operations, permits, staff oversight, and public access policies.
A legal determination on whether the owner is allowed to operate a venue involving minors, given the nature of his convictions.
A review of campground health and safety regulations, including supervision standards and background check requirements.
Appropriate action if any violations, risks, or unmet safety requirements are found.
Public transparency about the investigation results so families and visitors can make informed decisions.

To ensure that Electric Echo Lake — and any venue that welcomes children — operates in full legal compliance and does not put minors or attendees at risk.
