It is time to stop the corruption and greed of Philadelphia's elected officials. They should all live by the law and be responsible to you the citizen. Philadelphia City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown holds a position of power affecting the lives, taxes, schools and living conditions of residents in the city. On September 18, 2012 Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown signed a "SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT" with The Board of Ethics of the City of Philadelphia agreeing to remedy, in our opinion, illegal campaign finance law violations, hiding donations and using campaign funds to pay for a personal lifestyle. All are crimes. In the 25 page Board of Ethics report the Councilwoman admits to misstating material facts along with other violations of the law. Money was received and listed in reports as coming from other individuals; thereby hiding the true Identity of where the money was obtained. The Councilwoman did not properly report Tens of thousands of dollars in campaign donations from sources like attorneys, attorney firms, various attorney PACS, major corporations, unions and individuals. Many of these contributors have ties to business with the city or have items under review and/or control of the City. Fines in excess of $48,000 was agreed to be paid to the Board of Ethics for wrongdoing. The Council woman admits responsibility but nothing has personally happened to the Councilwoman, legally or otherwise.
The Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper along with their website www.philly.com has reported on many of the allegations of wrong doing against the Councilwoman and her campaign. She has "taken responsibility" but has not paid personal fines or been charged with any crimes in connection with the cover-up of illegal campaign donations. This is not the first time that the Councilwoman has been investigated and fined for violations of campaign finance laws.
Blondell Reynolds Brown holds a position of power on the Philadelphia City Council and she needs to resign NOW. She has admitted to what in our opinion constitutes at the very least fraud, along with and other crimes.. Misstating facts or lying, breaking campaign finance laws and falsifying information on campaign finance forms is a crime and should be investigated and prosecuted by the Office of the District Attorney.
