Investigate and Bar Julia Sanchez from Medical Roles Serving Vulnerable Populations

Investigate and Bar Julia Sanchez from Medical Roles Serving Vulnerable Populations
The Issue
Summary:
We call on Holy Cross Hospital Mission Hills (Dignity Health), Simeon Valley, and all affiliated organizations to investigate Julia Sanchez, a NICU-PICU nurse recently arrested for a hate crime, for potential racial bias in her professional conduct. If found guilty of discriminatory behavior, she must be held accountable and barred from working with defenseless populations in any healthcare setting—locally and nationally.
background:
A viral video surfaced, leading to the arrest of Julia Sanchez for allegedly committing a hate crime. The video can be viewed here:

Julia Sanchez is known to work as a NICU-PICU nurse—a role that demands the utmost impartiality, professionalism, and compassion. These units serve some of the most vulnerable members of society: critically ill infants.
Given the severity of the allegations and the nature of her work, we, the undersigned, urge hospital leadership and appropriate regulatory bodies to:
1. Conduct a full and transparent investigation into Sanchez’s conduct while providing care—specifically examining whether any racial bias has influenced her patient treatment.
2. Take appropriate disciplinary action if evidence of racist behavior is found, including suspension or revocation of her ability to practice.
3. Ensure that individuals arrested for hate crimes are not entrusted with the care of defenseless populations, including infants, children, elders, and persons with disabilities—regardless of the investigation’s outcome.
Healthcare professionals must be held to the highest ethical standards. The safety and dignity of patients—especially those who cannot advocate for themselves—must always come first.
Sign this petition to protect the integrity of patient care and to ensure that no vulnerable person is put at risk due to unchecked hate or bias.
