A current proposal from Invenergy, LLC, a leading privately held global developer of renewables, has submitted a Conditional Use Permit for a 77 MW facility in the 4th District of King William County. The proposed 1,262 acre site is currently zoned A-C, and the Future Land Use Map in the 2016 Comprehensive Plan identifies it as Rural Land Use for the property. The proposed project site is surrounded by agricultural and residential properties. Residents of King William County will be negatively impacted by the installation of this solar complex, as the surrounding environment and agricultural land will be irreversibly changed.
