Petition updateIntroduction of quantitative royalties on all natural resources exploited in CanadaCanada’s natural resource development tax laws need to be reviewed

Canada has very large and diverse natural resources but their exploitation does not bring not much money in the state and provincial coffers. We can see that by looking at the debt of the federal government and most provincial governments.

Compared with other resource-rich countries, there is a big difference between their virtually non-existent debts and very low or even zero taxes on tax payers.

So we need to review the tax laws applied in Canada based on the taxation of the income of mining companies that melt under the sun various tax deductions up to 100% of exploration expenses.

To avoid this situation of reduced taxation and also the possible corruption linked to the process, I propose the application by law of a level of quantitative royalties of minimum 20% plus income taxes, as is practised in almost every country in the world. If, for example, 100 kg of gold are extracted in a year, a value equivalent to 20 kg of gold will be a minimum perceivable in the year of operation.

If the mining companies are reluctant to comply with our demands, our resources could remain in place for future generations of Canadians, instead of being wasted now. They will not deteriorate, quite the contrary.

To improve this situation I have launched my present petition that you could consult, support and transmit to third parties even through social networks if you consider it relevant.

Thank you very much,

Constantin
