Introduce Negative Voting in General Elections to Overcome the Two-party System Paradox

Introduce Negative Voting in General Elections to Overcome the Two-party System Paradox
The Issue
We would like to explore negative voting as a potential solution to overcome the voting paradox, where voters turn against their own political standpoints simply to keep the party they least agree with from acceding to power.
The introduction of negative voting—an election mechanism that would permit electors to express their objections as well as their approvals—could reap substantial benefits. Notably, negative voting might potentiate the performance of smaller parties that currently find themselves stifled in our two-party system, it will also put pressure on the major parties to perform better and deliver on their promises. Herein lies the true potency of a changed approach: to amplify the voice of every elector, irrespective of their partisan association, thereby consolidating our democratic processes.
Therefore, we call for a review of our electoral system, advocating for the inclusion of negative voting. Allow citizens to not only vote in support of a party but also against a party they don't want. Negative votes could cancel out positive ones, facilitating a more representative electoral outcome, and mitigate the limiting effects of the two-party system.
Please, sign this petition to promote a truly representative democracy, where people can vote for the party they actually want, while voting against the party they don't want.
