The contemporary voting system used in Pakistan facilitates corruption and rigging. General Election '13 was the most anticipated elections in the history of Pakistan. For the first time masses were pulled out of their homes to use their constitutional right to vote in hope of selecting a Government of their own choice which resulted in the highest ever voter turnover in the history of the country. However the voters were disappointed to witness their vote stolen in-front of their own eyes. There were reports of wide spread rigging all over the country consequently the voters feel disappointed and there is some serious outcry on the failure of Election Commission of Pakistan from all sections of the society. Never before such an immediate need to change prevalent voting system with the Electronic Voting System (EVS) have been felt. The contemporary system facilitates rigging on massive scale and its about time that we switch to EVS which is more voter friendly, cost effective and deter attempts to steal the mandate of people. Our neighboring country has also been using EVS along with a number of third world countries that have switched to EVS to make the voting system more transparent. We urge all concerned to sign this petition and spread the awareness hopefully these little steps might bring much needed change in our electoral system. With every signature an automatic email will be sent to the chairman ECP urging him to take steps towards implementation of EVS in Pakistan.
