Introduce a Concession Stand and Improve Amenities at Castlewood Pool

The Issue

As a local and frequent visitor to the Castlewood pool, I've observed glaring disparities between our pool's amenities and those of other pools in the Lexington area. The issue hits close to home as I bring my children here, and the limited food options, offering only a chocolate bar, a bag of chips, and a drink, are unacceptable. With ever-increasing admission costs and restricts on bringing our own coolers, families deserve diverse and nutritional food options.

At other pools, they offer pizza, nachos, chicken wraps, and more. Why should Castlewood pool be any different? We also feel judged due to the area and struggle to understand why we are the only pool that doesn't receive visits from the popular Cona Ice truck. It does not seem fair and it's our children who suffer the consequences.

Furthermore, pool staff must also be provided free water to maintain their health and well-being during work hours. A recent unfortunate incident led to the dismissal of a manager due to inappropriate language. This could have been due to stress from such inadequate working conditions.

This plea extends to the broader Castlewood community. We need to take a stand—let's rally together to advocate for equality in amenities and services across public pools in Lexington. Enhancement of facilities and equal distribution of resources will contribute to bettering the overall community atmosphere. This issue matters to all of us; a win for Castlewood pool is a win for Lexington. Please sign this petition and support our cause. Let's usher in the necessary change.
