Our Condominium was once a tranquil haven, a place where families could relax and enjoy peaceful evenings and quiet mornings. However, this serenity has been increasingly shattered by the cacophony of crowing roosters and clucking hens. The noise pollution has grown unbearable, significantly affecting our quality of life.

We moved to this community for its peaceful environment and serene atmosphere, but this is being threatened by the growing trend of residents keeping chickens in their home and backyards. This not only disrupts our daily lives but also hampers our ability to fully enjoy our homes.

We understand that residents keep chickens for various reasons, such as fresh eggs or as pets. However, the close proximity of these noisy birds to neighbouring homes is causing undue stress and disturbance. It's essential to find a balance that respects the peace and comfort of all community members.

This is why we're calling on our management strata to introduce a new bylaw that would prevent residents from keeping chickens in areas where their noise can disturb others. By enforcing such a regulation, we can improve our living conditions and restore the tranquillity of our community.

Implementing this bylaw would not only address noise pollution but also help to maintain property values, as excessive noise can deter potential buyers and lead to depreciation.

Additionally, we must consider the potential health risks associated with backyard chickens, such as the spread of diseases like salmonella. A bylaw would help to control these health hazards and protect our community’s well-being.

We urge the management strata MCST 4403 to seriously consider the introduction of this bylaw for the greater good of our community.
