Introduce 3-day weekends!

The Issue

School has become overwhelming for students. Attending school five days a week is extremely exhausting, both physically and mentally. By the time Friday arrives, many of us feel completely burned out, stressed, and unmotivated. Instead of being curious and eager to learn, we are simply trying to survive the week. As a result, we have almost no energy left for ourselves, our families, or our hobbies.

The weekend, which should be a time for rest and recovery, is often spent doing homework, studying for tests, and preparing presentations. This leaves us with very little free time and does not allow us to properly recharge. Over time, this constant pressure has a negative effect on our mental health, concentration, and overall well-being.

For these reasons, we demand the introduction of a four-day school week. An extra day off would give students the chance to rest, recover, and return to school more focused and motivated. Learning would become more effective, as well-rested students are more attentive, creative, and productive in class.

Teachers would also benefit greatly from this change. With more time to relax, plan lessons, and correct exams, teachers could reduce their own stress levels and provide higher-quality education. A healthier work–life balance would improve the atmosphere at school for everyone.

In addition, we propose a reduction in the overall workload. This includes fewer subjects and fewer lessons per subject. The current system forces students to focus on too many areas at once, which often leads to surface learning instead of real understanding. By concentrating on fewer subjects, students could learn more deeply and meaningfully.

In conclusion, a four-day school week combined with a reduced workload would create a healthier, more balanced, and more effective education system. We strongly believe that this change would benefit both students and teachers and lead to better learning outcomes in the long run.
