As Square-Enix have recently begun to increase their focus on region-specific games, we the international fans of multiple franchises, such as the smaller franchise of Drag-on Dragoon (otherwise known as Drakengard) are concerned that Drag-on Dragoon 3 may not be localized as Drakengard 3 outside of Japan and made readily, easily available to international customers.
Our concerns have been based on the previous history of the Drakengard franchise as the following:
Square-Enix published Drag-on Dragoon in Japan
Square-Enix published Drag-on Dragoon as Drakengard within America
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. published and distributed it as Drakengard within PAL territories of Europe.
Square-Enix published Drag-on Dragoon 2 in Japan
Ubisoft published it as Drakengard 2 in both America and PAL territories of Europe.
Square-Enix published NieR RepliCant (PlayStation 3) and NieR Gestalt (Xbox 360) in Japan, NieR Gestalt was published as NieR on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by Square-Enix in both America and Europe.
Whilst Square-Enix have published the majority of the franchise internationally, due to comments by Yosuke Matsuda in late May 2013 regarding marketing treatment of globally-appealing games and the lack of Drakengard 3 information at E3 2013 the concerns of the possibility of Drag-on Dragoon 3 being localized internationally have become heightened within the fan community.
We would like to officially show our interest and consumer demand for the title.
Creative Director Yoko Taro of the Drag-on Dragoon / Drakengard, NieR titles has expressed that we talk to Square-Enix (source: https://twitter.com/yokotaro/status/350298201070379008) and with his encouragement and support for the international localization of the game, we officially humbly request Square-Enix to localize Drakengard 3 internationally and in addtion to this, we do please ask that if the title is localized - that it is released either uncensored or censored to the degree of the previous titles* released within the series to try and achieve an equivalent classification rating of the CERO rating once Drag-on Dragoon 3's classification has been confirmed and announced.
*An example of such previous slight censorship and/or editing of previous titles would be the "Church of Angels" becoming the "Cult of Watchers" within the international release of Drakengard, Drakengard 2.
