The constellation Bufo was created in 1754 by English composer, actor, author and botanist John Hill in his astronomy dictionary Urania, or A Compleat View of the Heavens. This constellation depicted a toad (or frog) and is located between Libra and Hydra. The star Brachium represents the eye of the toad. 

This constellation has been redefined as obsolete with the formation of the International Astronomical Union in 1925. This demotion was unfounded, and must be revoked immediately. Bufo is as much of a constellation as Gemini, Libra, or Leo, and should be treated as such. The criteria for the definition of a constellation is non-existant, and any recorded constellations are completely arbitrary. However, these constellations are held sacred to many, just like Bufo is. Bufo is an important part of many people's hearts, including my own. The lack of recognition for Bufo is completely unnecessary. Bufo's image has been drawn on wrists, on books, and every other surface imaginable. 

I call upon the International Astronomical Union to reinstate Bufo as a constellation immediately, given the arbitrary nature of current constellations and the love for Bufo among the public.
