Justice For Kinnedy Smith's Pets - Delilah and Pippa

Justice For Kinnedy Smith's Pets - Delilah and Pippa
The Issue
*Edited*
This will, likely, be the first of many efforts to aid her family in receiving justice in any and every way I can.
On June 6, 2020, a dear friend of ours Kinnedy Smith was stabbed to death by her then boyfriend, Connor Regan. The couple had two dogs, Pippa and Delilah. On the day that Kinnedy took her last breath, Connor Regan, also, executed the disturbing violence in front of Delilah and Pippa. Upon fleeing, he left the dogs behind. (wrbz.com)
After being captured out of state, he is now requesting ownership of one of the dogs, Pippa. His attorney called the CAA in Baton Rouge on June 8, 2020 and stated that the dogs could possibly be separated upon Connor's request, if his documentation proves he is the primary owner of Pippa, all due to him signing the adoption papers. It's mortifying that Delilah and Pippa will be separated from one another after witnessing such a horrifying act onto their mother, and we are asking for your help in keeping them together.
Statistics show that if domestic violence was present in the home within their intimate relationship, it could also have been exhibited onto these pets. (Humanesociety.org) We’re also aware how much the ASPCA stands for protecting all victims of domestic violence, releasing statistics that state, “25% of survivors have reported returning to an abusive partner out of concern for their pet.” Another statistic from the ASPCA states that “abusers intentionally target their pets to exert control over their intimate partners - 71% of pet-owning women report that their abuser threatened, harmed, or killed a family pet.“ (aspca.org)
From the day we heard about the murder, and knowing how much these animals meant to Kinnedy, we’ve been working day in and day out to find these angels a safe home. We've managed to provide a safe home for the pets until long-term decisions have been made by her family. We're asking for your help and guidance during this difficult time. Kinnedy Smith was a daughter, a sister, a niece, a best friend, a friendly face with a beautiful smile, but also a mother to her beloved pets. We know she would want us to fight for the safety of her animals, as well as for her, along with keeping them together. I ask for your help and support in fighting this battle for Kinnedy Smith.
