The Louisiana State House, also known as the Louisiana State Capitol, is a breathtaking historic building located on a 27-acre tract in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This incredible structure, soaring 450 feet high with 34 floors, holds the title of being the tallest capitol in the United States. The Capitol, blended with both Gothic and Art Deco architectural styles, boasts of intricate details including an array of sculptures and friezes. It is also widely recognized as the site where Senator Huey P. Long was assassinated in 1935; his statue graces the landscaped gardens surrounding the structure. In addition to housing the chambers for the Louisiana State Legislature, it also functions as a museum exhibit, providing an enriching view into the state's rich political history.
