Brief Introduction

Animals exist in the wild or domesticated before human appearance. Some are domesticated for the usage of farming or keeping the house safe; some are wild animals, which live in forests and not being kept by the public. Although wild animals aren't living nearby the public, they're also known as members of the world. After years of research, we discovered the majority of animal species are similar to the public. They can feel emotions and expressed them whenever they think it is needed as well as we do. Same as humans, they have been given rights, to develop a sense for respecting and treating them well. As time goes by, we've starting to love the animals in the same way as to how we love ourselves and the things surround by. Not having meats for the diet is why some of the people have become a vegetarian. However, this love isn't shared with all the people around the world, some of them chose to believe animals are different than mankind, they have a different status than humans, therefore, they started to treat them inhumanly. 

Main Idea

An animal gets abused by humans every minute. Today, animals are suffering from serious anthropogenic factors such as extensive deforestation, abandonment, animal testing, and other harms that can easily lead to animals' extinction for not having a comfortable living circle naturally. They are finding hope to survive from the suffering they have. But some people didn’t take this issue seriously, so it is happening continuously.

Cruelty to Animals

What is Animal Cruelty? Animal cruelty is the abuse toward or neglects of an animal. Some aspects of cruelty animals involved purposefully placing animals under harmful, scared, terrifying conditions. Cases of animal cruelty fall into various categories including abusing, neglecting, exploiting, human predation, and testing. The most common cases that are known as cruelty animals were when the owner kick their dog for no reason or abandoned them because of disinterest or trouble they caused. Some animals might be neglected because of disinterest. If the owner notices that the dogs have sustained an injury but unwilling to take it to spend the time and money necessary to heal their sick or injured pets, this can cause them to die of dehydration, untreated diseases, or other conditions. Another extreme case will be used for animal testing. Nowadays, science and technology are more convenient comparing to years before. We developed new medicines or cosmetics. We've been testing it on an animal even though it is unnecessary, the cases are still happening around the world. Many of that can cause burning, itchy, chronic pain, loss of body and other terrible sequences cause by chemicals and substances that are venomous.

Every day, there are lots of innocent animals died of been cruelled. Some charities and organizations post images and videos of animals that are treated badly in order to warn people, not to cruelled animals. So, why do people treat animals cruelly?

Why Cruel Animals

People look them as objects. Animals have different statuses than humans do. Research shows that historically nonhuman is viewed as objects. Animals are the species that only viewed as objects. Therefore, people won't put any respect to them, treating them like how most people treat objects. Whenever we don't want it, we throw it away, when we are not in a good mood, we use them as a vent to convey ourselves, such as kicking them, neglecting them, or even use ways to lose their lives.

Taiwan Animals’ Acts

In the world today, animals are protected by law and politics in most countries. There are different laws that need to be obeyed. In Taiwan, there are specific laws and regulations related to animals. Article 25 for Animal Protection Act shown the punishments for cruelty and abusing animals. Punishments include fining, serving in prison for less than 2 years. Although there are penalties for treating animals badly, a lot of people don't take it seriously and continuously cruel innocent lives.

Policy from Foreign Country

Other than Taiwan, many foreign countries have developed effective laws in order to protect the animals. Such as a pet insurance program provided by Canadians, to lower the prices of medical expenses whenever they are sick. At the same time, it is killing of animals is known to be illegal, so the penalty for cruelty to animals increased from in prison 6 months to 5 years maximum. In the United Kingdom, they think animals that are kept should be treated in the best way. If they fail to meet the requirements for law, they may be fined, stayed in prison, and confiscate their pets. This will be sent to the animal protection agency, those that abused will be prohibited from owning any animals for a period of time or even their entire life. 

Proposal

In order to prevent and stop animals from losing their life innocently because of being cruel, a new proposal needed to be made with serious punishments to stop things like this happened again. As an animal lover, I do not agree and feel sick about people that cruel animals. To prevent the animal from being cruelled, here are some tips:

1. Be respectful and responsible to the animals whether are you the owners

2. Educate people around you about respecting animals

3. Offered help to people who are overwhelming animals

4. Report to related organizations if someone is suspected of to cruelty animals
