To: India’s Ministers of Commerce, Urban Affairs, and Health as well as City/State govts

From: First 10,000 concerned Citizens who want smarter, healthier cities to live in

India’s cities are growing fast but moving slow.

Every day, millions ride our world-class metro systems in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Lucknow, and Kolkata… only to step out into chaos- heat, traffic, and wasted time before reaching work or home.

We’ve built tracks, trains, and tunnels, but missed the most important piece: connections that link metro stations directly into nearby offices, malls, and public spaces.

Cities like Singapore, London, and Hong Kong do this effortlessly  with underground and overground walkways that connect commuters safely and seamlessly to where they actually need to go.

It’s time India did too.

We call on our leaders to:
✅ Mandate that every metro station (existing and new) connects directly to buildings and spaces within 500 metres through underground walkways or skybridges.
✅ Coordinate across ministries to deliver this integration.
✅ Invite private participation to make it real and sustainable.

The impact :

-Less congestion and pollution
-Fewer short taxi trips and feeder chaos of unruly e rickshaws and autos
-More productive hours and healthier citizens
- World-class cities that attract business, talent, and tourism
- Better Safety for all incl Women- safe, well-connected walkways reduce isolated last-mile stretches and make daily commuting more secure.

Let’s make sure India’s urban growth doesn’t stop at the metro gate.
