Instate Tom Lacy as Morgan County Surveyor

The Issue

Thomas Lacy, an social study teacher at Berkeley Springs High School, was recently a largely voted write-in for Morgan County Surveyor. He ran for this position as a way to educate his students on local government while also seeking to be an aid to his community. Mr. Lacy however, was denied any opportunity for the office of Surveyor by the county courthouse under the claim that he was not registered as a candidate. However; Mr. Lacy, his students, and supporters argue that the courthouse's need for Mr. Lacy to register as a candidate defeats the entire purpose of write-in vote. As a result, this petition has been created by Mr. Lacy's avid supporters in an effort to give him the position he deserves; or, at the very least, the acknowledgment of his running.
