This petition is being made in hopes the City of Hinesville will hear our voices and construct a red light at the intersection of W. Oglethorpe Hwy and Courtland Dr. This is time for action before more people become injured or casualties being taken. As many of you know that people have trouble leaving the Courtland community and crossing the Hwy from the Lowes parking lot by Sonic. According to HPD you have 300 ft. to merge from the center lane. Getting to the center lane is a task in itself with the flow of traffic. With todays economy, people just can't simply afford to keep purchasing vehicles or pay for the repairs for minor accidents in said area. We fear that our children or we the citizens of Hinesville should be able to drive to shopping centers or be able to take our children places or school without the hassle or that fear of casualty. School busses leaving  Courtland Dr. have sat at that intersection for 10-15 minutes, children now being late to school, to aid in your/our children arrive at the school safe. Please join me in the effort to make this community and families more safe on the Hwy. for now and future generations to come.
