As a recently relocated resident in this community, I am concerned by the high volume of speed violations frequently occurring in this community. Our village, requires speed control, therefore it is imperative that we request the installation of average speed cameras through the village, along Ollerton road and extending through to Ollerton roundabout. 

Statistical data reveals that traffic calming measures like speed cameras are effective in reducing speed-related accidents. According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, incorporating speed cameras has shown to reduce accidents by an estimated 20% in the UK (RoSPA, 2020). Additionally, speeding fines increased by 75% in areas where average speed cameras were installed, indicating their potential to discourage speeding (Auto Express, 2019).

By endorsing this petition, we call upon the relevant local and national transport authorities to take swift action in installing average speed cameras along our village and all the way to the Ollerton roundabout.
