This is a petition to install a traffic light at the intersection in Raceland where route 23 meets Caroline road. This intersection is right in front of Raceland schools. There has been several car accidents in this area that could have been avoided with a traffic light. 

A recent accident including my cousins and their uncle took place at this intersection. Listed below are their injuries:

Cameron (17) with head lacerations and stitches, spinal cord bone chip and a coccyx fracture (tailbone). Tristan (just turned 14 while in the hospital recovering) shattered femur, spleen and lung lacerations, had to have chest tube put in and emergency surgery to stop the bleeding in the spleen and pelvis and a rod & weight put on femur to keep leg straight and stable. Another surgery to repair femur and pelvis. Has a broken sacral, broken ribs, damage to kidneys and liver and had to have a blood transfusion. Dylan (their uncle), large head laceration with stitches, head trauma, broken sternum, broken back/burst fracture (T2 and T4 completely shattered T3).

The reality is we need YOUR help. This will SAVE LIVES. My cousins and their uncle should have never been in this situation,  and they wouldn't have been if there was already a light there. PLEASE consider putting a light there, it IS a matter of life or death.
