As a concerned resident of the Zetterower Road neighborhood (in Statesboro, GA), I am deeply worried about the safety of our children, pedestrians, and pets. Our neighborhood street has become increasingly dangerous due to speeding vehicles and unlawful semitrailer trucks using it as a shortcut, despite 'No Truck' signs being posted at the street entrance. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), speed is a factor in nearly 26% of all traffic fatalities. Numerous car accidents have occurred at the intersection of Zetterower Road and West Lake Drive in the past several years. Installing speed bumps can significantly reduce vehicle speeds and enhance public safety for everyone.
