The Issue

Every day, our lives are at risk on the 400 block of Huntington Avenue in San Bruno, CA. The rampant speeding has made it exceptionally dangerous for residents and their pets. Daily, we experience close calls, and tragically, several dogs have been struck by speeding vehicles. Entering and exiting our driveways has become a hazard, where the fear of an accident looms constantly.

This is not just a mere inconvenience—it's a serious safety concern. The current speed limits are not enough to deter reckless driving, and unfortunately, accidents are becoming an all too common occurrence. It's only a matter of time before a more grave incident happens, one that could result in severe injuries or worse.

Speed bumps have proven to be an effective measure to reduce speeding in residential areas. Numerous studies and reports highlight the significant reduction in vehicle speeds when speed bumps are installed. According to the Institute of Transportation Engineers, speed bumps can lower vehicle speeds by an average of 20% and considerably decrease the number of accidents.

By installing speed bumps, we can ensure the safety of our children, elderly, and pets, and restore the peace in our neighborhood. Not only will these speed bumps make our streets safer, but they will also improve the quality of life for all of us who call this street home.

It's time to take action and make our community safer. We urge the San Bruno city council and other relevant authorities to prioritize our safety by installing speed bumps on Huntington Avenue. This simple solution could save lives, prevent tragedies, and make a lasting impact on our community.

Please join us in our effort to bring about necessary change. Sign the petition now to demand speed bumps on Huntington Avenue and make our neighborhood a safer place for everyone.
