The Issue

In the past months, my family and I have been deeply shaken by two severe accidents that happened less than a month apart at the intersection of 29 and B Road. These incidents were not just numbers on a report; they resulted in the demolition of our sheds and the destruction of a fence, leaving us in a state of distress and financial burden. It is high time we take action to prevent such traumatic occurrences.

The intersection of 29 and B Road is notoriously unsafe, with a record of five serious accidents in 2025 alone. The absence of cautionary measures makes it a hazardous spot for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. These incidents could have been mitigated with appropriate warning signs and infrastructure.

We are urging local authorities to install flasher lights or any form of cautionary lighting around the stop signs, or better yet, a full stop light system at the intersection. Implementing such measures would serve as an effective deterrent against the prevailing risk of collisions.

Statistical evidence supports the efficacy of traffic safety measures in reducing accidents. According to a study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, intersections with flashing lights or stop lights report a significant decrease in crash rates by up to 40%. This solution is not only practical but could also save lives and prevent property damage.

Our community deserves to feel safe. We should not live in fear of potential tragedies every time we use the roads around our homes. By signing this petition, you're not only advocating for necessary infrastructure improvements but also for the safety and wellbeing of everyone who shares this space.

Please support us in demanding the installation of safety lights at the 29 and B Road intersection. Together, we can make our roads safer for everyone.
