Many residents of Arlington have become frustrated with the amount of litter in town, particularly in public spaces and waterways.  This petition aims to install more garbage cans in Arlington, making proper debris disposal more convenient and therefore reducingthe incentive to litter. Several studies in other cities and towns have demonstrated a strong correlation between the installation of more trash receptacles and a decrease in litter. We hope to achieve similar results with this initiative and motivate residents to dispose of waste properly, contributing to not only a healthier environment but healthier residents as well.
