The Issue

Living between the intersections of Inman Avenue and Bramhall Avenue in Rahway, NJ, has always been a pleasant experience for me and my family. However, as a parent, each day comes with a nagging worry. Our neighborhood, vibrant and full of life, has many young children who play in the local park every day. The park, a sanctuary for our kids, is located adjacent to these bustling streets. Unfortunately, without adequate traffic control measures, these avenues have become dangerous for our community, especially the children who use the park.

The rapid and oftentimes reckless driving that occurs between Inman Avenue and Bramhall Avenue poses a significant threat. Despite the area's residential nature, the lack of sufficient stop signs has led to a constant stream of vehicles passing by without any necessary reduction in speed. This is not just discomforting; it is perilous.

The problem is not isolated; it affects each and every household in our community. According to traffic studies, neighborhoods with frequent stop signs experience a reduction in speeding by up to 40%, significantly lowering the risk of accidents. By installing more stop signs along key points of Inman and Bramhall Avenues, we can ensure a much safer environment for our children and all residents.

The safety and well-being of our children should be paramount. A small alteration in the city's infrastructure can have a profound impact on protecting our families and allowing our children to play safely. It is time for the local government to recognize the urgency of this matter and enact change.

Join me in urging the city officials to prioritize the installation of more stop signs between Inman Avenue and Bramhall Avenue. Let us come together as a community to make our neighborhood a safer place. Please sign this petition and help us bring about this essential change.
