As a passionate supporter of our local high school football team in Montclair, NJ. I cherish the opportunity to cheer for our school and take part in the vibrant American high school tradition of Friday night games. However, our school is omitted from this exciting tradition. Our current issue? The lack of lights in Woodman Field. Our teams are unable to participate in night games shattering our players' and supporters' hopes of experiencing the exhilarating joy of Friday Night Lights.

Other neighboring towns around us like Bloomfield, Verona, Cedar Grove, and West Orange all have lights installed at their fields, giving them the chance not only to play night games but also to step into the unique aura that these evening games create.

As a community, we need to address this limitation not just for the fulfillment of our players and fans, but also to ensure equality and broadened opportunities for our teams. Installing lights at Woodman Field will extend the hours our teams can practice, enhance player safety, and offer a better engagement platform for the student body, parents, alumni, and the larger community in Montclair. Additionally, it promotes the spirit of inclusion by enabling participation in a nationwide tradition.
