As a passionate skater in North Bend, I am one among many who are frustrated by the lack of lighting at Torguson Park's skate park. After 6:30 PM, the park becomes unusable due to how quickly it gets dark. This has been a long-standing issue that affects our community of skaters who wish to use the facility during evening hours. It also becomes a safety issue because people still skate the park in the dark but it adds to the risk of getting injured tenfold.

The pump track right next to our skate park is equipped with lights, making it accessible even after sundown. We believe that similar provisions should be made for the skate park as well.

According to studies, outdoor recreational activities like skating have numerous health benefits and contribute significantly towards improving mental health (source: American Journal of Preventive Medicine). By adding light posts to our skate park, we can extend its usability into nighttime hours and provide an opportunity for more people in our community to engage in this beneficial activity.
