Every day, our WILD BURROS risk their lives crossing Highway 38 where it becomes Greenway Drive in Big Bear. Too many have been injured or killed by vehicles, and every loss is heartbreaking. These collisions also put drivers and passengers at risk.

Our WILD BURROS are an important part of Big Bear's history, beauty, and character. Residents and visitors treasure seeing them, but they shouldn't have to risk their lives just to cross the road.

I am asking Caltrans and the appropriate agencies to install protective fencing and evaluate safe wildlife crossings in this area before another tragedy happens. We can protect both our WILD BURROS and the people who travel this highway every day.
