Imagine a deeply terrifying situation where my autistic, non-verbal son came home from school with injuries… That is what stirred me to stand against hidden abuse of vulnerable children in schools. These injuries, visible fingernail marks in his armpit and scratches along his sides, were clear signs of documented abuse. 

Now, we make a call for the installation of cameras in all classrooms.

According to ChildHelp, at least 40% of all reported child abuse cases occur within the school system. That's almost half of all reported instances and this doesn't account for those who, like my son, can't verbalize their experiences to report these incidents.

Installation of surveillance cameras goes beyond just preventing physical abuse. They can provide critical evidence in situations of neglect and contribute to a safer, more attentive learning environment.

Imagine a future where no child would have to experience my son’s plight. No child would have to feel neglected, unheard or unseen. Where every non-verbal child has a voice in the form of video evidence.

We need to protect children like my son today and always. Let's install cameras in all classrooms to end the abuse and neglect of non-verbal children. Please sign this petition and be the voice for these children.
